I’ve been doing this IT thing for almost 20 years now. I developed interest in the field over 20 years ago building PCs. I decided that building computers was the most awesome thing ever, so I was going to build PCs for the rest of my life! About a year later I was enrolled in an IT program working on my AAS degree. At that point I learned about this company named Cisco and I realized that IT was a lot more than just building PCs. I was going to be a Network Admin!
Fast forward through the years and one thing has remained constant, every time I still geek out when playing with new technology. From Cisco switching to virtualization to SAN to VDI to cloud to SDDC/SDN/SDWAN, it’s been a fun ride.
In addition to the various IT-guy roles that I’ve had I’ve also taught a number of college classes. I’ve also been very active in getting certifications whenever possible.
So far I’ve completed: A+, Network +, CCA, CCDP, CCNP: Route Switch, CCNP: Data Center, CISSP, MCSA:Messaging, MCITP, MCTS, VCP6-DCV, VCP5-DCV, VCP-Cloud, TOGAF 9 Certified, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and a handful of other certs.
